Earth:

Earth is the 3rd planet in our solar system from the sun. It provides a home for all living things known and is the only planet that has H2O (water). The earth is an ideal place for all living things live in because it is at right distance from the sun. All living things need light and heat to thrive and live.
Earth ranks as fifth in size and is one of the three inner planets of the solar system. The earth’s diameter is approximately 13,000 kilometers, Jupiter the largest planet in our solar system is 11 times bigger than the Earth. The earth is approximately 150 kilometers from the sun and takes 1 year to orbit the sun.

Other planets like Mercury takes only 88 days to completes its orbit.
Earth is orbited by one satellite called the moon. The only other planet or use to be planet to have one moon is Pluto. Our moon has a diameter of 3,474 kilometers and is ¼ the size of Earth. The moon controls our ocean’s tides by acting like a magnet. When the moon is closer to the earth the low tide will come, while the further the moon is from the earth the high tide will sweep in. Earth is made up of different layers. These layers help make up the internal structure of the Earth. There are four layers of the earth, the crust, the mantle, outer core and the inner core. Here is a diagram of the earth’s internal structure.
